A very primitive old roof gets a whole new look in a total building retrofit. New openings and glazing transform tightly closed-off rooms into an open layout, creating refined elegance inside and out. A reinterpretation of the spatial configuration opened up visual relationships between the rooms, conveying the feeling of a much larger dwelling.
